6-2, 250-Pound Defensive End Joins Monarchs From Northland Community College

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion head coach Bobby Wilder announced the addition of junior college transfer Shantea Green (Fort Myers, Fla.), a 6-2, 250-pound defensive end from Northland Community College in Minnesota, to the 2009 fall roster.

While at Northland Community College, Green posted 98 tackles, 13 sacks, five forced fumbles, and an interception for the Pioneers. He earned Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) All-Division Second Team honors and was named a MCAC Northern Division football Player of the Week after accumulating 19 tackles, including eight unassisted stops, in the MCAC Kickoff Classic. Green joined the Pioneer program from Lehigh High School in Fort Myers, Florida.

Green's brother is 11-year NFL veteran Jevon Kearse of the Tennessee Titans.

The Old Dominion football program will kickoff its first season of NCAA Division I Football Championship play this fall. The Monarchs will play an 11-game schedule, including a seven-game home slate beginning on September 5th when they host Chowan at 6:00 p.m.
