Thanks Taz, read online today that MercyHurst is an early favorite for a run at the Frozen Four.....looks like that will be a pretty tough oppponent for the broncos.......and the Jan 2 and 3 games against Bemidji state.......well lets just say students will be on christmas break....you can count on a low crowd for that one...........wonder who the exhibition game will be against?

Whether we play a home series with BSU or go down to the Texas College Hockey Showcase appears to still be somewhat up in the air, but enough people are now saying the tournament is in trouble that I'm fairly confident the above schedule is a done deal.

Non conference seems easy outside of Bemenji St.

This is WMU we're talking about.

Mercyhurst will be a very tough series.......they had a good team last year and ive heard that they are gonna be just as good or better next season....still no word on exhibition??

Mercyhurst is *not* a serious Frozen Four contender. They play in Atlantic Hockey, which is a "cost-containment" conference. The conference has a scholarship limit at least half a dozen full 'ships below the NCAA maximum. They went 2-6 in non conference play, beating RPI and Princeton and going 0-3 vs. the CCHA.

But, as Indiana said, this is WMU hockey. Atlantic Hockey's champion Air Force has more NCAA wins then Western (over Michigan, no less). Bemidji State now has two more wins.

Oh. Right.

Edit: looks like they took away the bye weeks to get rid of the midweek games.

I've followed Atlantic Hockey really close the last 4 years, my brother-in-law played for the Academy.

Mercyhurst has a legit shot at going to the Frozen Four. They won 22 games last year and return 12 of their 14 top scorers.

Air Force was 1 shot from going to the Frozen Four last year, so there should be NO reason why Mercyhurst can't make a run. However, they need to get past 3-time champ Air Force, who will be returning a good team. The AHA will be a very interesting this winter.

Just looked on CCHA.com's Full Composite Schedule and it looks like Exhibition game will be Wednesday October 7th at home vs Windsor............it says tentative on there....but other than that full schedule is on USCHO.com
