I learned something new today while reading the Vols board. Apparently, many would like future SEC Tourn's here. The reason is because the # of SEC hoops fans in Memphis far outnumbers the Memphis Tiger fans.

hahahahahahaha!! Guess that is why FEF was just overrun with urnge 2 years ago in the # 1 vs # 2 game. Funny to see them with such an inflated ego for never accomplishing squat in basketball.

The SEC is to stupid to do something that would make sense. For f*** sake, they held the basketball tournament in Tampa Bay last season.

St. Pete. Tampa Bay is actually a body of water, not a city. The SEC tourney should always be in Atlanta imo.

Tampa Bay is the name of the Area...St Petersburg and Tampa.

St. Petersburg is on the west side of the bay and Tampa on Other.

Tampa Bay Bucaneers... Tampa Bay Rays (who actually play in St. Petersburg) ...Blah Blah Blah. And there is an actual St. Pete in the area...The area you are talking about is St. Petersburg.

well...UT cannot play a regular season game there because Memphis has a contract to be the only college to play "home" games at FedExForum...the SEC tourney would be the only way...that said...the SEC tourney would be played at the sommet center (nashvegas) LONG before FedExForum is picked...

besides...i think the C-USA tourney will be coming back quite soon...and the Forum host the NCAA women's tourney next season i believe.

besides...the Grizz pick dates first...then the Tigers...then high dollar concerts...then the NCAA Tourney/Conference Tourney's

lets just say by the time the Grizz and Tigers are done picking dates...it's SLIM pickin's for everyone else at FedExForum.

I'd love for them to have it at Philips. I don't know the details, but from I understand there are contractual issues that won't allow it to happen. I think one problem is that Philips is about 40% bars and you can't serve alcohol at SEC sporting events.

it's like FedExForum...beers are 7 bucks a pop...you better come loaded if you want to get DRUNK at the Forum...college students can't afford it...and many of the folks who can...don't...so it's never really a problem...

Not true. The last SEC men's basketballl tournament was held at the St. Pete Times Forum which is located in downtown Tampa.

That's actually not how it works at all...let's just say the SEC tourney has as good as chance coming to Memphis in the future as any other rotational site away from the GA Dome.
