Griz Trade Thoughts
With the #2 pick in what is said to be the worst draft since 2000, the Grizz are in a tough spot. However, lukcy for them, many teams would love the #2 pick. There is no player that the Grizz could get that can help immediatly so here are some of the rumblings being heard around the leage.
MEM trades #2 to NO for Tyson Chandler and #21
MEM trades Rudy Gay and #2 to PHX for Amare Stoudemire and #14
MEM trades Darko and #2 to SAC for Jason Thompson and #4
THOUGHTS??

I like option 3. We'll see what happens this week. Anyone going to the Draft festivities at FEF or Jason's Deli at Poplar/Highland?

RE: Griz Trade Thoughts
love tyson but the grizz have zero need for him. for one thing his game consists 95% of lob plays and no d, and he's injury-prone. he had a great year in 07-08 but was a huge stinking disappointment last year.
i was all for trading for amare during the season and then as soon as it was pretty much settled he wasn't coming here, he got injured, again... pretty ominous.
i think the third scenario's most logical and also most likely.

The grizz won't take chandler. The suns wont trade amare unless we give them Gay, Conley, and somebody else. The darko trade is the only that seems that it could happen but I thin Thompson is a bust.

i agree but Thompson isnt a bust..if anything hes a diamond in the ruff. SAC didnt play him much. His #s are solid and with more PT (hed start at the 4 or 5 for MEM) he will shine for years to come...15 and 10 guy

The Grizzlies are so far in the crapper that any trade they make needs to create even more salary cap room(of course that probably won't matter since Heisley has tightened up) Even then, this draft does not have any bigtime difference maker players. Blake Griffin at #1 is not a Dwayne Wade, Lebron, Kobe, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, etc. Griffin has zero outside game. He reminds me of Carlos Boozer as far as talent level.
Hell, everyone thought Michael Beasley was a mutant and he didn't exactly light the world on fire this year. The NBA teams that usually win championships have a dominant player (The Pistons were the rare exception). Look at Utah and Dallas, for example. They can put a good regular season team on the floor but come playoff time, bye bye.

RE: Griz Trade Thoughts
Why would the Grizz need to make more salary cap room when they already have the lowest team payroll in the NBA?

Are these your thoughts or legitimate rumors? Because it sounds like the #1 rumor for about a week has been a Minnesota trade. Lower on that list is a small rumor of a Charlotte trade.
Of the 3 listed, the Sac or NO trades sound best.

I like No.3 best. Trade down - unload Darko and pick up a Tiger (Evans).
