Probably a good thing that the ref didn't call it because that guy probably would've gotten beheaded when he got back to Egypt.

that was uncalled for. Great game by the US, but no need to make fun of Egypt.

I wonder if Boca makes it back for the Spain game? Demerit has played well, but Boca is our captain.

Does Sasha Klejistein going to start in the midfield now that the red card penalty has been served? What will be our starting lineup in the next game against Spain Wednesday at 1:30 in the afternoon. Good luck to the Stars & Stripes down there in South Africa.

IIRC he only started against Brazil because Clark was suspended. Clark will likely be starting.

RE: US VS EGYPT- CONFED CUP
we dont need to do against spain what we did against brazil....which is to play too defensively. We need possession to shorten the game. I'd put in feilhaber or torres and go with a 4-5-1. at least stem the tide in the midfield and have some creativity going forward.

thanks for that. I just woke up from a pretty vicious nap after a filling cracker barrel run/church combo so I have unfortunately missed everything. I feel like a failure but I am pleasantly surprised!

the handball rule has a stipulation that the a defender sometimes doesnt have the ability to get his arm out of the way.

Just like the 'kickball' rule in basketball. The ball can be throw off the foot and theres no violation sincee the defender didnt attempt to kick the ball but it just merely hit his foot.

Short answer is no.
That being said,
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!

Holy moly. I just saw the play. No way was that inadvertent.
Having only seen the play once, no idea how both the center and the A/R missed that.

I wonder if any losing to the U.S. and having a chance to advance how long it will be before their Egyptian National federation fires the current Egyptian head soccer coach. They have only 1 point to qualify for the 2010 World Cup (probably will not qualify), it has to be tough for the Pharaohs fans to put up with that.
