Golden State Bailout

Quote:It’s highly unlikely that the state’s political leaders will be able to fix the problem themselves.

I have the solution, give this freaking ZOO to China in exchange for the US debt China holds and call it even. 05-stirthepot

RE: No more bailouts, sell the assets to the highest bidder!!!
I'm against giving California any federal money at all. All this will do is pay the bills for this year and we'll be in the same sorry shape again next year. One of the things that has to be done is take away the power of the unions. The governator actually signed an agreement with the state workers union just a few months ago guaranteeing them they will not get laid off. We have the highest paid teachers in the country that do not justify their pay with graduating students, so why pay them so much? We spend $10 billion on health and prison care for illegals. We are the worst state in the country for businesses and they leave all the time and who knows how many refuse to come here to begin with. The only way to fix this state is to reduce spending on the many, many social programs and get the unions to accept pay cuts and hiring freezes.
