Following are some of the stated goals of the ACLU, from its own published Policy Issues:

the legalization of prostitution (Policy 211);
the defense of all pornography, including CHILD PORN, as "free speech" (Policy 4);
the decriminalization and legalization of all drugs (Policy 210);
the promotion of homosexuality (Policy 264);
the opposition of rating of music and movies (Policy 18);
opposition against parental consent of minors seeking abortion (Policy 262);
opposition of informed consent preceding abortion procedures (Policy 263);
opposition of spousal consent preceding abortion (Policy 262);
opposition of parental choice in children's education (Policy 80)

The ACLU needs to disappear. They do more harm than good, they defend the criminal and flip the bird to the victim. They are trying to neuter this country and need to go some place else. Cuba would be good, Venezuela would be even better, the Middle East or SE Asia would be best.

What I don't understand is why they are so influential. No matter who is in office, the ACLU has some sort of intimidation over them.

the Soviets(KGB) infiltrated our system a long time ago, now we have whats left of them still around along with Islamist, allied to take down the torch of Liberty in the world.

But, wouldn't it be entirely possible to ignore the ACLU? I would do it and I know that the majority of the left and the right don't give a flying sh*t about them.

You're falling under the false presumption that our politicians have balls.

I know far too well of the lack of balls our politicians have towards making decisions.
