Derrick Bails has had his knee surgery. He's doing well, has lost weight and is in great shape.
Mike Smith is down to 273 pounds and is looking great.
McBride is definitely history and may play at South Carolina State.
I'd didn't realize that Coach Cunningham "found" Neighbour in England and helped him find a place to play in the USA. We had to fight off Billy Donovan and Florida late to keep him. He will report later this summer than the other players since he's playing for the English national team.
Still hoping to sign the kid from Brazil- SMU and Fresno State are our main competition.
Coaches feel real good about this class, but realize rankings don't mean much until they see how they play at this level.

I liked Coach Cunningham when he was an assistant at ASU.

If both Bails and Smith are coming back, then it's obvious we've been overlooking something concerning our roster. We've all focused on the players we think are or are not coming back, but the one obvious situation we've overlooked is players transferring that we expect back.
Remember Renee Renz. Foley sure didn't want her to leave, but she was homesick and went back home. Or there could be family situations that cause players to want to go back home to a school closer to their families. Grades and playing time aren't always the reason players change schools. We might be in for a few surprises when all is said and done.

Anything's possible. But I would say the odds of that happening are about the same as Sidney Moncrief coaching the team this year.

That's kind of what I figured, but didn't want to say it. Knew I could count on you.

It's gonna be disappointing if III doesn't get a scholly. As much as he has meant to the team over the past 2 years. He's started many games, he's single-handled gotten us back into games, and from what I can tell, has a great attitude.

Unlike many DI basketball players, who couldn't afford going to college, I don't think the money involved in a scholarship is the issue in this case. It's likely the principle of the thing- he "deserves" a scholarship and his family likely feels that he should get one. How the numbers will work out for that to happen, especially if we sign the kid from Brazil, I don't have a clue.
