RE: A New Patriot Home
we are very excited to have Williams join us next year... we are expecting big things from him and cannot wait to see him don the green and gold...

I have a bit of a soft spot for the Tigers and am rooting hard for Pastner to succeed... best of luck to you all and thanks for the welcome!!

I have a name for you guys to keep an eye on for next year. His name is Austin Hollins. He is the son of Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins. Has a nice offensive game but lacks the body for high major. This kid will be a steal once he hits the weight room. I though of Mason since inroads have been made.

Austin attends Germantown High School in Germantown, TN. He is a 6'4" forward/wing with good handles & post moves. He has really blossomed this AAU season & will be getting looks from high mid majors. He would get looks from high majors with a better frame. He only weighs about 180.

Hollins, who played for the Nashville Celtics in Real Deal in the Rock, is receiving interest from Arkansas, Belmont, St. Joseph, Richmond, Middle Tennessee, Samford and others. I do not beleive he has been offered yet & expects to garner much more interest as his game has vastly improved. With his father as a NBA coach his basketball IQ is very high.

UofMTigerFan, what's the word on Memphis so far this off-season? How are you guys dealing with all the changes?

RE: A New Patriot Home
Memphis is hanging in there. Coach Pastner has done well under the circumstances. He has put together a great staff with Cyprien, Wilson, & Jack Murphy soon to be on board. Recruiting is a mixed bag. He retained Coleman from the recruited class & lost out late on Eric Bledsoe. We are still in the running for Latavious Williams & Lance Stevenson. I am hopeful that we do not get LS as he has tons of baggage. I look for Coach Pastner to sign 1 combo guard & 1 swing forward for this year. Memphis high school is loaded next year & he is making serious headway. This will probably be a throw away season for the Tigers but I expect a quick rebound.

I look for Mason to have a huge year. I need them too so I can have a team to follow in the big dance!

Stephenson is definitely shopping around; ironically, schools keep backing out of recruiting him. Very interesting dynamic going on.

Are the World Wide Wes connections dead to Memphis now? Did that guy follow Calipari?

The WWW connections are dead for sure. Thank God! Cal is a snake. You love him when he is your snake, but you still know he is a snake. It will be great to go back to watching college basketball again. We might even get to see some kids in school for 4 years. Novel approach.

As for Mason, now that VCU lost Grant & their best recruit does that mean the fittings have started for dancing shoes?

WWW follows Cal for sure... it is interesting how you can love a guy when he is yours and hate him when he isn't... when Tony Skinn pulled his crotch shot a while back I defending him tooth and nail... yet had it been a player on another team I would have a very different feeling...

I am not quite ready to put the dancing shoes on Mason yet.. I am going to go ahead and start another thread regarding next years line up and what that could potentially means for Mason... a lot is going to change..
