That's some really serious stuff. UNO's athletic program appears to be hanging by a thread. I know some of the local heavy hitters are trying to rally the troops, but it appears to me to be an uphill climb. UNO has never had much in the way of support from the city (UALR's support from our city looks absolutely fantastic by comparison) so it's difficult to see how the city leaders can pull this out.

I really don't think we will have long to wait either. The shoe will drop or the reprieve will have to happen in the next few weeks. If things continue south for UNO, it will definitely have an impact on our schedule for next year, not to mention the long term impact on us and the conference as a whole. UNO has been a great rival over the years. I'd sure hate to lose them.

The UNO basketball coach has publicly expressed his confidence that heavy hitters in the community will bail out the program. That seems in stark contrast to this memo put out by the AD. Pasternak's efforts may be a case of closing the barn door after the animals have gotten out, as the AD has clearly given other schools permission to contact UNO's athletes. Really can't believe he would do this before a final decision was made- unless he believes that it has been made.

I would think that if the N.O. AD sent out a notice that other schools were free to contact any of their athletes, the Athletic Program, especially for D-1 is finished.

Is this for real? What is the source? I can hardly believe it has come to this so soon.

This memo was issued on Friday. It was quickly rescinded on Sunday. No one has permission to directly contact any UNO student athletes any more.

Point guard who can score? Why yes, we've got one of those. Hopefully he makes it on campus after all this.

All I want for Christmas is a point guard who can score.

Some seem convinced Bozeman is the answer. I guess we'll find out eventually. At this point, I'm not sure where our scoring will come from next year as we've lost 3 of our top 4 scorers.

I look for Bozeman to be able to give us 8-12 points a game. Occasionally more. III will average in double figures. Cicic, Neighbours, Davison, and Curtis Jackson should be able to score some points, and Courtney should be able to get up to 8-12 points a game, and our big guys should do allright. I think we'll score more next year than this season. We'll have more weapons, which will make each shooter more effective.04-rock
