Pastor of the World's largest Evangelical Church not only believes he's a Christian but thinks he's GREAT!
Joel Osteen is the senior pastor for the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. It's America's largest congregation. His wife, Victoria Osteen, is the co-pastor there.
Joel and Victoria Osteen appear on "Larry King Live" Tuesday night.
The Osteens, known for their optimistic outlook on life, visited "Larry King Live" Tuesday night for a wide-ranging interview that covered President Obama, same-sex marriage, the recent outbreak of mass shootings, the state of religion in America and more.
The following interview has been edited for brevity and clarity:
Larry King: Since you were last on, we have sworn in our first African-American president. What are your impressions [of Barack Obama]?
Joel Osteen: Well, I think he's doing a great job. I'm impressed with his skill, his calmness, his just strength under pressure. These are tough times for him.
King: And you, Victoria?
Victoria Osteen: I've been really impressed. In fact, I've been impressed [with] the first lady. She stepped up, and she's done a remarkable job.
King: Recent polls show 12 percent of Americans still believe Obama is a Muslim, and 35 percent say they don't know his religion, but to most of them it don't matter. Should it matter?
Joel Osteen: Well, it matters to me. It matters to me that I know he loves the Lord, and I think it's important that he has convictions from his faith. So to me, it matters when I'm making my personal decisions.
King: Does it matter to you, Victoria?
Victoria Osteen: It does. It matters to me. ... I believe he is a Christian.

Osteen says he thinks Obama is 'great.'
(CNN) — Mega-preacher and best-selling author Joel Osteen is putting his faith in Barack Obama.
Asked his thoughts on the president-elect, Osteen said, “I think he’s great.”
“I think he's going to be a great president. He seems brilliant to me and just, I believe God puts the right people in office, so we're praying for him and just believing that God will give him wisdom and strength,” Osteen said on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”
Osteen is the senior pastor for Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. The church is one of the largest and fastest growing in the United States.
Shortly before the presidential election, Osteen told CNN he doesn’t think it is right to preach politics from the pulpit.
“You know, people have different views, and they're just as passionate. They love God just as much. And so, I would just encourage … just get out there and vote. But we don't feel like it's our place to tell people how to vote. Just search their own heart,” he said.

He also preached at Rick Warren's Saddleback Baptist Church in CA one of the largest SBC congregations in the nation. Rick Warren wouldn't a "nonChristian" share his pulpit and address his congregation.
All Obama has to do is keep peeling away moderate Evangelicals and the Repubs has no chance of winning national elections.
