Quote:With 13- to 15-year-olds being only a few years away from driving age,
it is important to ensure they engage in safe and proper occupant protection habits before they get behind the wheel.
The objective of this project is to research, develop, and demonstrate an integrated approach designed to increase and maintain 13- to 15-year-old seat belt use through parental influence at the local level in a community (or communities) that have significant 13- to 15-year-old populations. The approach may include, but is not limited to an educational campaign, an awareness campaign, a communications campaign, or a combination of the three, in addition to an enforcement component that will target and engage parents of 13- to 15-year-olds.
Geezum people, is this guys rout and rampaging of every Single Individual Right under the sun going to even slow down in the near future ???
At this rate, we will all be pretty much serving "In-House Detention" as per Mr. Obama very soon.
And this is just another thing to fault the Parent Group on - - I can see it now:
"John Doe, age 65, was killed today in a car crash ... he was not wearing his Seat Belt and his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Doe, both 85 Years Old, have been Arrested and Booked on Federal Charges that they failed to Train John to Wear a Seat Belt as a TWEEN". Bail was refused pending trial.
What a bunch of ignorant foolishness .....

Tweens are children between the ages of 9 and 12. These youngsters are no longer little children, but are not quite teenagers.
What's even funnier is the grant author is using the term "tween" for teens, as he tries to play up this new, catchy trend in marketing.

Funny as in, "sure I got $10M to burn," funny. WHich I don't.
This is kind of funny as I just got rid of my daughter's booster seat and I've been very strict with her in the past that she needs to sit in it. When did the label "pre-teen" go out the door?
note: the Grant link indicates Tweens are age 13-15. Otherwise, I was going to ask for $10,000 to tell the girls on our soccer team twice a week to buckle up when they leave practice.
