RE: Would the worst team in the Big East(DePaul) be the MAC Champion?
DePaul would certainly win the MAC West. The East would be far more competitive but DePaul would definitely have chance to win the MAC>

NIU is a much better team than Depaul. Just a few years ago when Depaul basketball was 100 times better, NIU pounded them. Depaul would finish toward the bottom of the conference, they are just plain bad.

That is not the point. Judge them on the players they have this year.
I think they would have a very good chance of winning. Dar Tucker and Will Walker would be first team All-MAC. Koshwal would be right up there too. These guys are playing against future NBAers every night. All there recruits coming out of HS were 3 and 4 star recruits with the above three being 4 star. I think that playing tough teams game in and game out crushed their confidence. Don't you think Koshwal would be liking his chops to be guarded by Kowal?
I am not saying they would run the table but they would have the best record in the MAC this year.
Since recruits, athletic budget, salary cap, players etc... doesn't matter. how about the 1995 chicago bulls, would they win the MAC? also ditka will be driving the team bus to and from the games. I go with da bulls.
Can't wait for the spring game.

Strongly disagree. If the current DePaul team played the current NIU team they would beat us 9 out of 10 times. There is no doubt in my mind that DePaul would be among the top two or three teams in the entire MAC. They have three players that I can think of that would be among the top of the entire MAC.

Uh DePaul was? Wasn't that the year when NIU 'won' the MAC West?
