( Philadelphia, PA 3/13/2009) Philadelphia police confirm a Memphis Grizzlies player is being investigated for sexual assault.

Police say a female accused a player of the assault which she says happened in February while the Grizzlies were in town.

SI.com is reporting the player being investigated as Marco Jaric.

Jaric has played in the NBA for seven years but just joined the Grizzlies.

Jaric was married in February to Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima.

The Grizzlies are aware of the investigation but have made no comment as of now.

Philadelphia District Attorney's office says it has investigated claims a Memphis Grizzlies player sexually assaulted a woman there in February. A representative told News Channel 3, "Police investigated it and concluded "the allegations lack prosecutorial merit." SI.com named the player as Marco Jaric.

No charges placed due to lack of evidence. A woman falsely accusing a 'deep pocketed' pro player for money. What is this world coming to? I'm just glad the people on this thread weren't judge and jury.

Wow. She obviously didn't know who he was married too when she decided to accuse him. No one in their right mind would do this when they had a wife like that. Not even a crazy person would do this.
