Can we get out of the A sun?
I know it has come up before, but do we have any options? Our athlectics will always struggle as long as we are in a conference we no local/regional rivals.

Big South looks so good right now....

RE: Can we get out of the A sun?
I agree with you the Big South does look inviting right now. The problem with the Big South is we burned that bridge pretty good when we left a few years ago. The Big South has now recovered and is thriving without us. It would take a strong effort from athletics to get us back in the conference. Geographically and financially it makes sense but sometimes things that make sense are the last things to be done. To start, football would need to be scholarship and for that to happen some of the other sports may need to be cut to make sense budget wise. It will be interesting to see if this would happen. Changes would need to be made. With the new facilities it makes sense but some more changes would need to be made before anything can be finalized. Also we would have to do any with the no Sunday play policy. It is a rule that A-Sun has catered to over the years but I'm not sure if another conference would be as accepting to it. It does make scheduling a bit more difficult when you are forced to only use six days instead of seven as a conference office.

Your right, the Big South would likely fold before they gave us another look.

The Sunday issue is tough, I repect the stance however there should be some room for future consideration. I assume you can still get a tee time at Keith Hills on Sunday?

Well, we do have new admin at CU. That would be in our favor. I would love to be a full member of Big South again. That includes Scholorship Football. I wouldnt be surprised if we do begin to play on Sundays. Alot of changes within the past 5-10 yrs. im sure they wont stop now.

Watching Southern Conf final, UT Chattanoga vs C of Charleston. IMO there isn't an A Sun team that could hang with either of these squads.

McCalls, just wasn't feeling it. I think the dissapointment of Curry not playing was greater than the chance of the Mocs making the dance, kind of sad.

Gold Digger I actually forgot that you guys (and 15 other schools) beat UTC this year, my bad.

OK, this has been fun but it is about time to winterize the Campbell board. I will be checking out till football (a sport that ETSU no longer plays).

Props to Billy Pope Fan on his parting shot to ETSU. I really don't think he can winterize the Camel board.
Come on man, Baseball is coming up and we actually play and compete with the Name Schools out there. So I hope you will pop another top and keep dealing the smack, Holmes!

RE: Can we get out of the A sun?
I witnessed both teams play live. All you need to do is look at what we did with a healthy, fully staffed Pittsburgh team vs. a Uconn team that beat UT-C by 56 points WITHOUT their head coach, and nobody really knowing what was wrong with him. Saying that is funny.
As for the Big South, get scholly football and it's an easy go for you guys. They'll take you back, they need the teams. They took Gardner-Webb, but I'd get on it quick though, I wouldn't be suprised to see North Alabama, West Georgia and possibly a few other D-2 schools in the southeast move up soon.
