"The West is the best".
Jim Morrison was wrong. I was just looking at the standings after tonight's action. The last place team in the East, Ohio, has a better record (7-7) than the first place teams, Ball State and Western (7-8) in the West! The MAC needs to go back to the pre-2000 seeding rule. The West winner getting a #2 seed is a joke.

I have a strange feeling someone in the West is going to win this thing. It wouls be like 4 -I think- years ago when #7 played #4 in the championship. Something bizarre like that will probably happen again.

AF-
I have said the same thing. The west was so much better at football this year and then Buffalo stepped in and won the MAC. I would not be surprised if the west did the same thing in basketball.

Mediocrity is a great equalizer. Since no team in the Mid-American Conference seems dependably good, maybe Toledo will get hot for a week and win it. Then we can have a conference team with a 16 seed.

Thats a good quote. I think I'll put it on my facebook.

I'm not saying I like the scinerio. Frankly, I would rather Akron win it than any West team, just to improve our bid. Even if, should Akron play in the final, I doubt I'll be cheering for them.

About the only scenario is see myself rooting for the rootards is if somehow the Iraq national team slips into the MAC.

That's not quite the same. You're thinking of 2005, when all those teams were tied at 10-6. Seeds 3-7 were determined through tiebreakers.
