DaRon Brown is a very interesting prospect. He doesn't have the super high top end speed but he's very slippery.

Nothing wrong with his arm from what I have seen either.

I wonder where he's going to play in college.

Scott Kuehn, #5, Junior WR, Waubonsie Valley (Aurora, IL)

This kid is real deal .. keep an eye on him, Coach Fleck is recruiting him. As junior, finished with 61 catches, 687 yards, 9 TDs in just 10 games ... note, he had no drops the entire season, none. Awarded All State Special Mention (Tribune) and All DuPage County. Broke school record for catches, previously held by RJ Luke (future NFL player). Tied 2 other school records. Note, Waubonsie is 8A school playing all 7A and 8A games. He knows spread offense, can play short or long game, and has no fear over the middle .. great yards after catch as his highlight vide shows below.

Last spring, he won WR MVP at NUC Chicago Combine which got him invited to NUC Regional Combine (Dallas) where he ran 4.62 in 40yd and 4.24 in shuttle. Currently weightlifting 5 days/week and Conditioning 3 days/wk (2 NFL guys training him). He is already clearly faster than last June when he ran the 4.62 at combine .. no doubt he is in low 4.5's, but we'll see this spring/summer where his 40 is at. He is true 6'0" and weighs 185 lbs.

Here is highlight video from youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpUN_Nde7Eg

Are you his street agent. Just kidding. Seems like you know a lot about him. Is he interested in NIU or just interested in getting as many scholarship offers as he can.

Just a Warrior Fan (Waubonsie) trying to help one of our young Warriors find the right opportunity at next level. I hear he came away from NIU junior day impressed with what he saw and heard.

Facilities are impressing recruits

Hartford Union offensive lineman Steve Kenitz (6-3, 275) and Milwaukee Riverside offensive lineman Rickey Edwards (6-5, 290)

“It went great,” Kenitz said of his visit to Northern Illinois. “The facilities at NIU were amazing along with the coaches.

“NIU's Junior Day was a great experience,” Edwards said. “It was about a two and half hour drive, but it was all worth it.

“Coach Limegrover was the one who showed us around the facilities and they were really top notched.

Are you a family member?

I just say that because whenever posts like this show up one tends to be from a relative who is acting like a "fan". It's ok to support your family - I'm just saying if you are just a "fan" it's creepy you know so much about a high school kid... 04-jawdrop

Well here is what I know - I live in Naperville, he isn't considered a big time prospect at this point. He put up some very nice numbers - but again he doesn't have the top end speed that some look for.

He is going to have to prove himself in camps and combines this summer. I know you probably are a relative but I'm just being honest he isn't one of the top end guys at this point.

Yep, that perception is understood and appreciate the constructive input. It is precisely why I posted .. to get feedback, so thanks. He is working very hard towards camps and combines, and senior season, then college. Understand this, he is extremely self-driven and determined .. stay tuned.

A lot of guys are driven - but that doesn't always do the job. It's great that he's a hard worker because if he does have the talent he'll be a great player in college. (Wherever he goes, even if it's DII it's still football!) You always hear about guys who bounce out of a program who have so much potential but they just can't cut it, from what you say it seems like this kid won't be one of those guys.

Good luck!

TheNEWguy,
Take it easy on warriorfan. They did not start posting about this prospect. Esnoopy posted that he attended Junior Day and gave a link. Coach Fleck is recruiting him. How do you know that he is not in your words a top end guy? Coach Fleck was also not a top end guy either and he turned out pretty well. I would bet that Coach Fleck sees a little bit of himself in this recruit. Let the coaches decide what prospects that they want to recruit and be a little more friendly to potential Huskie supporters.

A little info: DB Kweku Arkorful, originally from Thornridge HS, attended Murray State (1AA school in same conference as Eastern Illinois) his freshman year, played in the first game and was knocked out for the season with injury, transferred to Rock Valley CC where he played last fall.
