Wow, you guys have the best possible schedule leading up to the Troy game, ugh. Start with a cupcake to iron out kinks, play a tough team to get you focused, have an OPEN week, then play TROY at HOME. Gah...

Not sure how that could be backhanded in any way, shape, or form.

I think he was trying to say it was an accomplishment for a sunbelt team to get a home and home with Louisville, a pat on the back. I don't think he meant any disrespect by it.

I can see how he would think that.
"Congrats on squeezing a home and home out of Louisville." = "Congrats on getting lucky enough to land a home and home game with a BCS conference school you worthless bottom feeder"

FIU got a home and home with Rutgers. Where is our pat on the back!!!!
But seriously, that is a good OOC sched, I wish FIU would stop killing themselves with the OOC schedule. At least have one easy win. I guess Rutgers is winnable, but it is still going to be an uphill battle.

RE: stAte Announces FB schedule
To clarify, I meant it as a straightforward compliment.
As a fellow mid-major fan, I am tired of AQ BCS teams thinking they deserve 2-for-1's.
My use of the word "squeezing" was only because I'm sure Louisville didn't want to play Arkansas State on the road, but couldn't get the game otherwise. Kudos to the Arkansas State staff for not giving in.

RE: stAte Announces FB schedule
My take on this is probably wrong. The SBC only has the one bowl game correct me if I'm wrong. So why play so many BCS teams in the OOC. why not just play two money games (Arkansas st. case,Nebraska, and Iowa)and then play two FCS teams at home. It would be good for the fans and if its not gonna matter anyway why not? I post this and Astate will go undefeated and get into a BCS game and I look like a dumb A$$,but ya'll see my point right?

The NCAA allows one victory per season over an FCS team to count toward an FBS team's bowl eligibility. This prevents teams from scheduling multiple games against FCS teams in an effort to pad their win total.
Two FCS on the sked is a nono.

So it looks like the October 3rd game against Troy was moved up a week. I know the schedule usually gets tweaked a bit with conference games. I'm ready to see all of them released so we know all dates for sure.

A fellow ECU fan on the BE board said big time football programs don't play ASU at jonesboro. I see ASU as an equal to Louisville. Don't be surprised if we win.

Louisville, Arkansas State, and East Carolina too for that matter are all D1 FBS teams. They should be willing to sign home-and-homes with other D1 FBS teams, so if Louisville is a big-time football program (which I could argue against) I disagree with his statement.

You were just thinking "ONLY ONE SBC TEAM WON THEIR BOWL GAME LAST YEAR", but yes two teams went, and ONE succeeded.
GO OWLS!
