Where have all the fiscal conservatives gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Each election it gets harder and harder to vote for candidates. Very few have my views on financial matters. No one wants to say no to the voters. The voters need some one to say they can not afford this or that. The primary goal of elected officials is to get RE-ELECTED. This will be the downfall of our country.

Now that the Republicans have no power on the federal level, they talk tough but still they are getting their pork projects.

I just can not believe that people are not mad as hell with Obamas budget. He has so many tax increases to the hard working people and giving to the lazy and useless people who just want handouts.

The hard working middle and upper middle class are going to be taxed to death. Why do I have to take a huge haircut in my income to fund more lazy people.

If you tell the voters that you we can't pay for this and that, then they won't vote for that candidate. Maybe America needs a dictator to lay down the law and get the country back in order. I doubt any dictator would have Americas best interests in mind though. I'm putting my trust in Obama to fix the country. Besides, unless he really screws up and gets impeached, we're stuck with him for the next 4 years. Might as well make the best of it.

I know this sounds crazy...but I dont have a problem with taxes. I like services, programs, and infrastructure investment and really dont have a problem paying for them.

My recommendation is for you to not take any deductions on your tax return. That way, you can pay the most possible taxes.

I do not want to pay for single moms with 3+ kids on welfare. I don't feel I should pay for people to have healthcare if they can buy nike's, cellphones and eat out. I make decisions in my life that I can afford. If you are a sponge, I don't want to pay for you.

I feel defense, schools and infastructure are all important but not when the money is spent poorly. We have idiots making financial decisions and more idiots who think that their policies will work.

So for all of you who want to pay for bail outs and universal healthcare, stop your deductions and pay the max tax.

I dont disagree with this point...I have better things to do with my cash than see it flushed down the toilet. But its far to early to make that assertion. Most of the money hasnt even been spent yet. Its easy to armchair quarterback. I say give it a chance first.

And you can make sweeping cliched generalizations regarding social services if you want. I'll be the first to admit nothing is perfect. However, I do believe that government should have a role in aiding the most neglected and downtrodden in our society. You can call me a socialist if you want, it really dosent bother me. But feel free to not accept 911 assistance next time you have a heart attack. Or drive on a public road. Or send your kid to a non-private school. Or play Frisbee in a park. Or take a book out from the library. Because I got news for you: that sh*t's socialism.

And you must be an ignorant simpleton if you dont grasp why taxes exist. Do I jump for joy when I fill out my return? Of course not. But I understand and agree with the purpose.

Or like I said, feel free to drop out of NIU and attend a private school. Assuming you can get in, I hear NW is $50,000 a year now. Enjoy.

Maybe I was a little harsh toward your comment-- apologies. The reason why most despise taxes, myself included, is due to the enormous waste and unnecessary spending by the government.

Working and spending citizens and businesses are taxed on absolutely everything except the air they breathe yet our politicians cannot operate the government in the black. Then many still want more of YOUR money.

That's a totally asinine comment. Government CONTRACTORS make a TON more money than government employees. There are not only more government contractors, there wages are higher as well.

You must be an ignorant ass.

As I posted above, anyone making a comment such as yours isn't in touch with the reality that contractors make a HELL of a lot more money from government programs than do government employees.

Is it just a bad time of the month for all you repugs? How many folders bitching about Obama and the economy do you have to start? Of course none of this whining too place while shrub was in office but Obama is expected to waive a magic wand and fix all 8 yrs of shrubs f'ups in 30 days. Grow up and get a friggin grip on reality, even God took 6 days to create the world we live in and he didn't have Mitch McChinless of KY to deal with.

So do you really believe that the financial path both Bush (TARP 1) and Obama (trillions more in debt) will lead us out of this financial recession?

RE: Where have all the fiscal conservatives gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No to TARP, not sure about Obama's plan but my Deficit Reduction Trust Fund to be constituted from Preferred Voting Shares of Stock from Banks and Public Companies that want or got bailout $ would absolutely pay down the National Debt. Mandating that banks and public companies pledge half the bailout amount they want in Preferred Voting Shares of Stock, ensures that the public will benefit from the recovery in the price of their stock when their stock value rises as it should from the injection of Fed $.

Since the taxpayer is shouldering the burden of the Bank Bailout, shouldn't we benefit from the recovery of these Banks & Corp's when the value of their stock rises again? This needs to be put in place yesterday.

you have made it clear you are quite upset with the direction of the current administration. how about running for office if not satisifed with what the politicians are doing? take control of the situation yourself

The last several Presidential elections have proven that the best candidates don't win - so telling someone to run for office is a joke. Most often it is the most who are willing to lie to the voters and tell them what they want to hear who wins - those who tell the cold hard truth are left on the wrong side of the margin on voting day.

Look at Obama - talked about change, blah, blah, blah, and he's doing the same thing as all the other politicians. Putting all of Clinton's cronies in positions of power, putting people who don't pay taxes in charge of the IRS. Is THAT "change we can believe in?" No - it's a joke!
