Marian scored a career high 17 points and added 12 rebounds. She was 5 of 7 from the field, 7 of 9 free throws, had 5 offensive rebounds, 2 blocked shots and 3 steals. Quite a night!

My wife and I were at the Stephens Center yesterday afternoon to do an interview with Channel 4 regarding the Women’s Team from a fan prospective. While we were there, Marion walked by and my wife asked her if she had lost weight this year as she certainly appeared to have done so. She advised she had lost about 25 pounds since the start of the season.

This Women’s team has no seniors! As long as we can keep our Coach, the future (and present) looks great. Also, I noticed that the pink uniforms had the player’s names on the back, unlike their regular uniforms. I like that!

Another good coaching hire by coach Foley. You got to give him credit he hires the right people to get good inside players.

I saw Sunday Adebayo at the gym this morning and I was telling him about Marian, and mentioned to him that she had really improved, and I was sure she had lost a lot of baby fat since the beginning of the season. 25 pound weight loss has made a big difference in her all around game. Give her another year or two in the weight room, and she's going to be awesome.04-cheers

It's evidently legal to do so, isn't it BigD? I know you guys at ASU don't like anything about Joe Foley, but, I'd like to hear your opinion of Joe as a coach. I read a lot of your posts, and I think that you know womens basketball pretty well. Of course, if you say he can't coach a lick, then I'll know that you don't know **** about basketball.

A coach who has won over 500 games in his coaching career and has taken a program from nothing to where it is now must be regarded as a great coach. I don't care at what level you're talking about. Give Joe a few more years, and there's no telling what can be accomplished with our women's program.04-rock

What BigD is talking about is that Foley hired Kursh's cousin or an aunt or something last year as an administrative assistant, and therefore landed Marian from Fort Smith. But, she's not on the staff now. I don't know what happened to her. Evidently it worked. I guess that's why Joe always leaves an opening on his staff, in case he needs a job for a recruit.

It's legal, no doubt. You guys have the luxury to having the extra coaching position that our administration doesn't allow us to have. I wish we could do the same thing. Foley got me upset with two things. First we actually hired him before you guys did several years ago and for whatever reason he backed out. Fine but, the first year he was at the Convo he got mad because Brian called a timeout late in the game and what he was telling his girls is not to showboat and to go to the dressing room Foley thought he was setting up a play and was pretty ugly to Brian after the game. But, anyway that is probably as much about it as anything. I think Foley has been a pretty classy act since that time.

Now as far as coaching, I think Foley has done an outstanding job. He plays a physical brand of ball and really gets away with it at home. I think he should be coach of the year this season. One area that he seems to have really done a better job of than we have is recruiting new post players that can come in and play right away.

I believe that is your third post player in a row that you have gotten that way. One from a juco and hired her coach, she's gone. Seems like another one but, not real sure.

I guess he'll have to fire an assistant now, since he doesn't have a coaching spot available to get another recruit.

I don't think he needs one for next year.

I don't quite understand why Foley would get mad at a coach for calling time out to set up a play. That's what coaches do and coaching is. Must have been more to it than that. That makes absolutely no sense.01-lauramac2

The game was long decided, we were running the clock down before we would shoot just about everytime for the previous 6 or 7 minutes. We were up about 25 points or better. I think he thought Boyer was trying to rub his nose in it but, he was just telling them to not make a big deal about it.

HE also had overreated when we beat them at UALR in your old fieldhouse when we sold out your place. Brian called timeout and told his kids to not celebrate on UALR's court, go straight to the locker room and that is exactly what they did but, Foley thought again he was trying to show them up by setting a play. But, that was early in Foley's career at UALR, I'm for giving him the benefit of the doubt now.
