Last summer there were rumors floating around about Gerald Robinson, Jr. possibly transferring to Belmont from TSU. Obviously that didn't happen, and I really don't know if the rumor had any basis. Anyone else ever hear that one?

If there was some basis to that, Cy Alexander getting canned at TSU could be Belmont's gain. Robinson would be a fantastic addition. He's a heck of a player.

I know we recruited him pretty hard in hs, but had not heard that rumor. I like the sound of it though. He is a terrific player. I think it's interesting how many kids Byrd recruits that don't initially come to Belmont, but then wind up there. Dansby, Dotson, Scott Saunders, not sure that we recruited Renfroe in hs or Boomer for that matter. Would be nice if Drew Kelley didn't like Miami.

Last time he played at the curb, I talked to some TSU fans. They said he chose TSU because his parents went there. I don't know if that will be enough to keep him there or not.

Now a rumor has appeared on Vandy message boards about Jr. possibly transferring to Vandy. I have no idea about the validity of these things, but sometimes where there is smoke there is fire. Regardless, he'd be good at Vandy and very good at Belmont. Who knows the reality though? Both teams are unproven at PG for the timeframe he'd be eligible.

I'm going to guess the new coach may significantly influence his decision. Jr. was quoted in the paper this morning and sounded pretty positive about the new guy and his up-tempo approach.
