After an exciting game with a great finish, the Owls look to go back to back against the Dolphins. Earlier this season we lost to JU 82-61 in Jacksonville. It will be interesting to see if any confidence can be carried over from Saturday into tonight's game. One thing I did see against North Florida that I didn't get a chance to post prior to now was the creativity on offense. We looked a little more lively out there, and in my opinion, it paid off. I hope to see more of that same kind of creativity tonight especially against a good Dolphins team whose loss to Upstate pushed them out of first. The teams are on opposite ends of the spectrum, but both have something to prove, and that alone should make for a good game.

KB, after watching the game from the other night, what did you think about what Ingle tried to do on offense?

RE: Jacksonville
I was out of town and haven't had a chance to watch it. I have a newborn child, and am really busy right now unfortunately. I will bring it up on ASun.tv when I get a chance and let you know what I think. I saw from the boxscore that Mitchell played a good amount of minutes. I think the more minutes we get out of him the better. Even though he is severely hobbled by his ankle injury, he knows how to play. He can go inside outside, set screens, and read the floor.

I will let you know though once I watch the game what I think of the offense.

RE: Jacksonville
The difference in the game was the full court press put on by JU for more or less the entire 2nd half. We looked bad against the press and allowed the Dolphins to extend a lead as much as 10. I think if they didn't press like that we end up winning this game. It was a two point deficit at the half I believe. My analysis of the stats was right, our best chance was to keep them under 70 and we did that. We just had absolutely no answer for their press.

RE: Jacksonville
It seems as though we would have more three point shooters in the game for the last shot.Dixon and Marine were on the bench and Jay and Whipple were in the game.We don't need rebounders at this stage because if we miss the last shot, the game is over. With more three point shooters in the game we have a better chance of getting a good look. We were down by two at the half

Great effort by the Owls. JAcksonville is tied for the lead in the conference, and we took them down to the wire. It looks like Ingle has found his rotation for the rest of this year. 7 guys played almost all the minutes. Tough loss, but encouraging in some respects. Now it is time to come out and start winning a few games.

the score atlanta blog brought up a point i almost completely forgot about from the game. if any of you on asun.tv have a chance, that monster jam in the first half by woods is worth replaying...it was sick. honest to God in my fourth year of owls basketball, that might be the sickest ive seen, including all the ally oops from golden ingle to ronnell wooten. attached is a link i found from tom mcconnell, actually off facebook of all places, of a picture of woods' dunk.

I think it's interesting he took shots from the stands instead of the floor. Works out well cause it doesn't show the attendance in the background and offers a different angle than typical basketball shots. Also helped there was a lot of action near the close basket.
