That video proves absolutely nothing.............other than Schumer and Frank are flaming idiots and that the Bush administration tried to do something.

This is just yet another story you won't see on CNN, NY Times, etc..

RE: THe Housing Meltdown-Timeline
I still stand by my timeline that this country will see no economic recovery until the real estate market recovers. That is why I have been vocal that any stimulus should be directed at honest homeowners to could allow / encourage home sale and home purchase.

The real estate market is depressed because of foreclosures (subprime loans, bad decisions, fraud etc -why it happened is almost irrelevant now, and won't change the market)

*Foreclosures will continue to plague the market until all the subprime loans have matured.
*The last of the (bad) subprime loans where offered until 2006.
*The most generous subprime loans where for up to 7 years.
*The market will hit lowest in 2011, because the majority of subprime loans where 5 year ARMS. This may happen a little earlier than 2011, but not much. Maybe recovery will start summer 2010.

As the last of the subprime loans, and their associated foreclosures, will not pass out of the system until 2013, we will not see real estate recovery until 2013.
