still can't see III when he's open. From the box score, it looks like Stevie had a pretty lousy game, but Shane and others made up for it.
III hit three big 3 point shots in just 17 minutes. Looks like a lot of people contributed to the win.04-rock

I've been saying all season that III will be wide open and many times his teammates will throw the ball to someone who is covered. I like Stevie, but, I believe he is a selfish player, who wants to be the big star. He's been pretty good at passing the ball to others during this winning stretch, but I don't recall him passing the ball to Matt much when he's open for a shot. At least not a games I've watched either on TV or in person.

That's how I always described Zach Wright. Probably, neither of us is being fair to the players. Upon reflection, they are just confident players who want to be leaders and carry their team and tend to overestimate their talents at times.

You obviously see this. I have seen it all season. I can't speak for anyone else, but it really hacks me off. There is no telling how many points we lose because Stevie won't pass the ball to the best shooter on the team. Can't Steve and Joe or the other assistants see this and correct it? It's a mystery to me, but we're winning so what can you do? At some point the coaches have to address this problem or it's going to create some problems in the locker room. If the other players are watching film, at some point someone has to remark "Look, III is open a lot of times, and Stevie just seems to ignore him" The players were responsible for III originally getting to play last year. John Fowler is a team leader. He needs to speak up and tell Stevie to get the ball to III when he's open, not when he's covered.05-stirthepot

At 7-1, I don't consider it a problem.

I would add this, Stevie does not pass the ball to anyone after head puts his head down and drives to the trees. So, I want to see him pass it to Mouzy but he ain't passing to anyone. Now, the flip side is he gets trips to the line out of it. The down side is he eats it several times a game but I would rather see that than 30 seconds of passing to put a 20 foot covered shot at the end of the shot clock.

In all fairness to Stevie, most of his assists come from dishing it off underneath to someone for a layup when he drives and draws some players to him. I would think he might not be capable of making that pass to the wing to an open player, but since I've seen him pass it to John Fowler in that situation many times, I feel like there has to be a reason why he doesn't pass it to III in the same situation. I do agree that I hate standing around dribbling out front and passing the ball around the perimeter and then having to force a bad shot is not pleasant to watch.:03-hissyfit03-hissyfit03-hissyfit03-hissyfit03-hissyfit

Might be 8-0 if he did. Well, I take that back, we couldn't have beaten Western Kentucky that night if Larry Bird was doing the shooting.
