So a question to all you Vistors who play FAU/FIU...

DO you feel its worth it for exposure to this areas recruiting hotbed to come down and play in South Florida?

I know that travel, especially in this difficult economy, is one of the most expensive items for a football team and it is for FAU/FIU too.

Weve all talked about confrence expansion and contractions a lot and most are in agreeance that moving teams along geographic lines will most likely be coming down the road.

So do you feel its worth it for your program to come all this way? and if not what WOULD you like to see confrence wise keeping geography in mind.

Ill throw out my DREAM scenario...

And let me be CRYSTAL clear, I know that no way in hell does this happen. But hey a man can dream right?

FAMU (FCS at the moment but has considered FBS)

All moneys stay in state, travel costs reduced to the BAREST of minimums, and a selection of great, good, and so so programs.

I think it's worth it. There's a lot of talent in South Florida to try to recruit. Troy usually has a lot of fans that travel to the FIU/FAU games.

I see C-USA and SBC "merging" into two geographic conferences.

East including FL, north to KY, West to AL

Central with TX, OK, AR, LA, MS, and Memphis

I don't think that the travel expense is all that much. Southwest flies to the Miami area and travel doesn't get much cheaper than that. And flying to a major metro area is probably much easier for a team than traveling to Jonesville or Troy by bus.

For SBC and CUSA to merge, CUSA would have to lose a bunch of teams to the Big East or something like that. Unless CUSA wants to make a super-conference like the Big East has in basketball, but I would hate that. I don't think CUSA has any interest in merging with anybody. They'll likely raid the SBC for some teams if anything..
