RE: UConn @ St. John's
Last nite, I clicked on three different channels and found a BE basketball game on tv. Tonite, there's the BE again. The BE sure has a superb tv situation.....wouldn't know that by all the bitching and griping that seems to go on this board at times.

The griping is usually about football.

Typical UCONN game. Ugly. Eventually in the 2nd half, UCONN wears you down with depth and talent. UCONN is slowly pulling away.

Your basektball telecasts under your tv contract are superb!!! So are your football telecasts via your tv contract. And the bitching and griping on this board I just don't understand.

RE: UConn @ St. John's
I love watching this UConn team. I've seen maybe a half dozen of their games - is there a more valuable freshman to his team in this league than Kemba Walker? The moment he came in, his team became energized.
The one thing, though - maybe UConn fans can enlighten me - what's up with Hasheem Thabeet this season? His defense is as great as ever, but it seems like there's been nominal offensive improvement. Against UC he wasn't really much of an offensive presence, although AJ Price was too busy killing us for me to notice anyone else - but last night, again, he didn't seem to have full command in the paint. Missed some painfully easy layups. I hear he can become a bit of a headcase if he gets rattled - is that true?
Anyway, UConn's depth and starting five is inspiring to watch. You can tell that they turn off the heat sometimes, but if they really need a bucket or a stop, they seem to get one without issue. It really is like watching an NBA team sometimes.

Thabeet is tentative at times probably due to his experience. The refs are really inconsistent with calling fouls on Thabeet. At times, he is not as aggressive as he could be. When he is aggressive, he get called fouls. Anyway, it is tough to ref big men like Thabeet. NBA has the same issue. Fouls like big man like Yao Ming is also inconsistent as hell.
UCONN got a tough bunch. These guys can play great D when they need to. Also any of the guards can put up big numbers on any given night.
You are right, Kemba Walker will be one of the top PGs in the country before it is all said and done. The kid is just awesome. He is only a freshman. I just hope he will stay few years.
