Check the announcements. Sorry about that guys.

You live fairly close to Dallas. Feel free to form an angry mob outside our host and demand the head of their power grid supervisor on a pike.

Yes, Slatton doesn't like anyone criticizing Steve. I think he's become Steve's Orville Henry. Orville never uttered a critical word about Frank Broyles. Like Wally Hall did for Dickey Nutt, and Houston Nutt for a long time.

Jeff's situation is a little different than Wally's. He's our beat reporter, and he doesn't write an opinion column. He needs to stay in good stead with any coach we have, since they can shut down information if he were to write things they didn't like. He knows a lot of things he'll never reveal. After the fact, he'll admit he knew something, but until he's told by Steve or Chris that it's allright to release information, he won't do it.
And I don't blame him. If they have his trust, they'll give him pretty open access to what's going on. Jeff is the best we have ever had. Hope we can keep him forever.04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers

Can't argue with that he's probably the best we've had as our beat writer, but he doesn't need to be running his mouth about those who think things aren't all rosy in Trojan Land. Those of us on this board are saying what we think. That's our God given rights. According to what you're saying, he only writes what he thinks will keep him in good stead with Steve. No criticism coming from him.

Maybe I didn't phrase it right. I think he needs to keep good relations with any coach we might have. And I could be wrong, but I don't think a beat writer normally criticizes the team he's covering. I think he just reports. Oh by the way. I think it might be Leviticus, 23:15 that says "And God give UALR supporters the right to *****, moan, and criticize whomever the Hell they want". Right there in the Bible.03-shhhh03-shhhh03-shhhh03-shhhh03-shhhh

You are right. Two different situations entirely.

Don't have any problem with that, Jeff just needs to "report" and keep quiet about those of us who want to gripe. I don't think that you've seen me criticising his reporting, other than where it appears in the paper, and I know that he has nothing to do with that part of it.
