no doubt that there will be no coaching change this season because there's excitement over the next recruiting class. How good they are, I don't really know. We've been excited over some Jucos in the past that didn't do squat once the got here, or were mediocre at best in D1 ball.
The only way Steve is leaving after this year is if he gets a great offer from a larger program and leaves on his terms. So those of you who are ready for an immediate change might as well accept the fact that it probably isn't going to happen this year. And maybe it shouldn't.03-hissyfit03-hissyfit03-hissyfit03-hissyfit03-hissyfit

I think you are right. Barring a total collapse down the stretch, Steve will be back, and probably should be. But we need to win at least as many this season as we did last, and win more next year. If the wins keep increasing, the rest will take care of itself.

Coaches that run clean programs that are almost really good really create problems for AD's don't they?

That's a very good point. How do you fire a coach that keeps winning a reasonable amount of games every year? You probably don't for a long time. But it would be a lot easier if a coach was winning 4 games a year instead of 20.03-weeping03-weeping03-weeping03-weeping03-weeping

4 games. I remember that one. Didn't have to fire him.

If I were an athletic director, especially at this level of Division I, my nightmare would be the in-between guy. Win 12 or fewer and it is easy to pull the trigger. Win 20 or better, it is easy to renew and try to find money for raises.

That in-between country is where the boss man earns his salary because there you have the tough calls to make.

Yeah. Didn't he parlay that great season of coaching into a $750,000 a year assistant job with the Mavericks? That takes some real skill!01-lauramac201-lauramac201-lauramac201-lauramac201-lauramac2
