was pretty animated last night. After Patterson missed that breakaway layup, I heard a loud thump which startled a few of us in my section and it was Peterson who thump the scorers table hard while leaning back in his chair. Then later when one of our players threw the ball straight to an UNT player, he threw his glasses on the table. I never seen him like that before. He is usually sits without a lot of emotions...things to make you say hmmm. I'm glad we won it because Peterson seem a bit frustrated at times.

Hopefully he's getting tired of being mediocre too.

There were a hell of a lot of things to get frustrated with in the game last night. Not the least of which was Burton slamming the ball in after the whistle had blown and preventing what could have been a three point play at a crutial time of the game.

But the most frustrating thing to me was that we didn't seem to have much of a plan about how to get the last shot on either occassion that we had it. Both were preceeded by time outs. On the first one, when we couldn't get the ball to Moore, it was obvious that there was no alternative plan that had been drawn up. On the second, we did get it to Moore and were lucky to get a call with 1.9 seconds to play. A lot of officials, especially a veteran crew like last night, won't make that call to potentially decide the game.

Then we put no one to face guard the guy inbounding the ball with 1.9 seconds, who has to make a great pass to better than half court for them to even have a look at a shot. To me that was a no-brainer. But I don't make a living making those decisions, so I'm probably just don't know what I'm talking about.

Boy, I agree with that. I was surprised that Burton or Bails didn't check in and guard the in-bounds play. I sure thought UNT was going to pull a "Christian Laitner".

From my angle it looked clear that the shot that Burton slammed back was falling off the rim and wouldn't have gone in. Still probably not a smart play. Seems like our plan, whenever we have the last shot in a game is to give it to Stevie and let him take it himself. If they scouted us at all they would have known it was coming. Still couldn't stop him without a foul. We're lucky we have Stevie because we have no other player (or apparently play) to get us a shot in that situation.

My wife wondered why we didn't guard the inbounds pass. I thought it was questionable at first, but having Fowler as the "free safety" on the play really made it tough for the guy to find anyone to throw it to. I didn't notice this, but Tucker said on the post game the guy ran the baseline before the threw it. Thus, it should have been a traveling call since the throw in came after a timeout.

I certainly didn't see the guy run the baseline. But that's really the point. He couldn't run the baseline so a big guy in front of him was really the percentage play. And one of the primary reasons that Stevie didn't get the ball the first time was because they had scouted us and did everything they could to keep him from getting it. The second time he was able to get it, but preventing a guy from getting the inbound pass in back court is pretty difficult. Still, everybody in the joint knew what we were going to do.

Mouzy was the one that made the play on the ball that caused them to not get a shot off.

lralum was do you sit? Do you sit on the side with the benches or across from them and do you sit in the middle or by the fisher court? There is a guy to the right of me that looks like you but when I get close to him I start questioning myself.

I sit in the middle 4 rows off the courts on the side with the benches. Right in front of the two guys that hate to have people stand up and get into the game, lol.

I sit in the section right behind the visitors bench. I actually saw you last game but I was occupied with my daughter, so I couldn't get over there to holler at you.

Are you kidding. Peterson has almost been thrown out on a couple of occasions since Stephens opened. I think that is wht he sits up in the suites most of the time.

He's my kind of guy. Who wants a wimp for an AD? I don't agree with everything he does, but I don't want to see him leave here either.
I don't agree with everything I do either.
