Heh... UC hired a guy that was pursued by everyone in the country, SJ. Last I checked, it is at best 50/50 in terms of schools who are impressed by Holtz (the teams going after him aren't exactly going hard after him, i.e. offering $3M+). I think he is a good coach, not a great coach, and I think he may end up paying for not moving on. He could end up being the next Jeff Bower and never do anything big time, if he doesn't continue to make the team move forward.

Everyone? Yeah, I don't remember Kelly being that big of a target at the time as you make him. Who else were all these schools beating his door down to get him away from Central Michigan?

WITN said Syracuse offered him $2.5 million, not really far off.

He has improved the win total each & every season he has been here & next year should be no different with what we return. You say he hasn't done anything big, but the guy has won the last 3 games he has played vs top 25 teams including one in a bowl, & Tulsa was #26th receiving votes just last week on the edge & we won that on the road in a championship game. We are just outside of the top 25, win our bowl we should finish ranked despite being decimated by injuries this year. Cincy has finished ranked 2 times now in your whole history including this year. Would that count as doing something "big time"?

Iowa State, for one. But that is besides the point... I was saying that everyone wants him now. Nebraska, UCLA, Washington, Tennessee, to name a few.
