dubious footnote: NIU vs LTU
An 18 game winning streak in LTU football history began with a 42-21 win over NIU in Rustin in 1989 and ended in 1993 with a streak- ending loss following an 18th consecutive win beating ...NIU, 17-16, in Ruston during a 4-7 Huskie season.
During 1994 , another 4-7 NIU season , the Red & Black beat LTU 27-17 in DeKalb.
The last two games played were absolute blowouts by LTU in 95(A) and 96 (H) , two seasons in which the absymal Huskies were 3-8 and 1-10.
