So where is Turner Gill headed ?!?
Turner Gill pretty much punched his next meal ticket last night. So I wonder which BCS program he ends up at? Could he be the next guy at Auburn???

I think three years in the MAC to the SEC is too big of a jump. Syracuse would be a good fit. If he turns Syracuse around in 2-3 years and gets them to a bowl game, maybe then he makes a jump to the big time.

Urban Meyer spent 2 years in the MAC and 2 in the Mountain West, and things are working out pretty well for him at Florida. I'm not saying Turner Gill is Urban Meyer, but then again Meyer inherited incredible talent at BG and Utah, something that obviously can't be said for Gill.

Syracause makes sense geogrpahically and it's a decent stepping stone. If you can win at Buffalo you can probably win just about anywhere though.

Turner Gill has a lot of positives in his corner. He has a great football pedigree and by all indications is a fine recruiter, good at developing talent and solid coach on gameday. He also happens to be black. The NCAA continues to be severely hammered about the lack of black head coaches in Division IA. Therefore when you add up the whole package I will not be surprised to see Turner Gill make a BIG leap in jobs. Something tells me he could be headed to Auburn.

If you think someone will be a great coach, experience is over rated. Look at Fitzgerald at NW. He had no head coaching experience and has done a great job. The head coach is the face of the program. You can get seasoned assistants as OC and DC. Management skills are the most important part of being the head coach after the ability to recruit.

Are there any openings in the Big 12? You would think he could recruit there with the success at Buffalo and his name recognition in that area.

Is Joker Phillips interviewing for any of the SEC openings? How about Locksley? Would be nice to get more quality black coachs in D1.

Auburn athletics are run by a very wealthy, influential alum. I read about this guy and he orchestrated the Bobby Petrino fiasco a couple of yrs ago. SEC football is a different breed. That is why if I were Brady Hoke I would wait till next yr and go after the Indiana job, a better fit for Hoke

Auburn is 100 times the football program Indiana is or could ever hope to be. The Indiana job is professional suicide. Any up and coming coach worth his salt would give his eye teeth to be interviewing for the Auburn job. I envision Turner Gill being serious finalist for that job. Meanwhile, Brady Hoke is interviewing with San Diego State, a program that paid former head coach Chuck Long $750,000 per season versus the pathetic and embarassing sum of $160,000 that Hoke makes at Ball State.
