Thanks for the "linky", now I see it was Norwegian and not French.

RE: LEDE STORY ON SPORTSCENTER!!!
It is very specific to the journalism world and dates back to earlier days of newspaper publishing. The word is lede, and it refers to the opening lines of a newspaper article, also called the "lead." It is used in alerting the printer to them but distinguishes them from the word "lead" (Pb), since that metal was used in the printing of the ink. The two homophones needed to be distinguished, and hence the variant spelling lede was invented.

So by definition it is a word used strictly for the print media and erroneously used here to describe television coverage, thanks!

Wrong, farktard. The word is used in broadcast news.

I went to the best J-school in the country and worked in TV and radio news for six-and-a-half-years, but you know more about broadcasting terms than I do.
Welcome to my ignore list.

I never knew fans that just won a MAC Championship could get so annoying so fast.

Yes, it must have been awfully annoying to learn that the MAC was the lede story on SportsCenter...'cause that happens all the time for the MAC.

Congratulations! This game has been getting a ton of play. That talked about it on Game Day a while, too.

Zibby,
I'm on your side here, but that is a pretty obscure reference.
Its bad form to call out spelling and grammar on the boards, but it is no better to use an obscure reference and belittle someone for not getting it.

Fark him. He's been a whiny little doucherag for more than a week because I didn't praise his precious little Flashies enough. As if one congratulatory post isn't enough. That's more than a lot of people on here have offered us.

He provided a link to the origins of the word he used, but Hammer decided to be a jerk about it. Only when he continued to do so did Zibby get defensive.

The link provided no basis for his argument but backed up my claim. Thanks anyway to the peanut gallery! Lede, farktard, fark and doucherag, I'm impressed with the vocabulary!

RE: LEDE STORY ON SPORTSCENTER!!!
Just to join in the fun-
The Bulls were in the the lead story on SportsCenter for 2 days in a row- The UB-UConn game lead the broadcast the day before the MAC championship.
As usual, national broadcasters can't talk about Buffalo without bringing up the weather. One of them made a comment about Buffalo in the sports news a lot recently and it has nothing to do with Dopler Radar. Cute.

You may have to excuse us for the moment as we're all running on fumes.
UB-UConn thriller on Thursday night. Quick turnaround to Detroit on Friday. Back to UB-FIU basketball game this afternoon.
Just glad tomorrow is Sunday. I need a break. But a damn good 3 day stretch for UB athletics!!!

You're being obtuse and obnoxious for no apparent reason, as usual.
