What's with the guy in the jacket? Is that to show the scale of the bird? Does that mean the bird is like 40 feet across?

RE: BGSU Stroh Center Design Unveiled
2 questions:

1. Is there any sentiment among the BGSU fans that leaving AA will mean giving up one of the best home court advantages in conference (admittedly when full)? That place is awesome when it's hopping. These photos show a more open airy facility where the fans aren't on top of the court like AA.

2. Has any indication been made on how Anderson (a member of the Naismith Basketball HOF) will continue to be honored by BG? Will he?

Good looking facility.

Yeah, all the artists renditions on his website have that dude.

And yes, the statue will be 23 foot tall with the wingspan being about that B!G!

1. YES - But the AD is aware of these concerns and has mentioned that he wants to keep the students close to the action as much as possible.

2. NO - Not yet, but they are not tearing down Anderson Arena so you can't really name another arena after him...especially since they have already sold the court naming rights I believe. The new place will have a lot of memorabilia displays and the like so I'm sure Harold will get to be some part of that.

Maybe we could go with....

Isn't the practice court named for Frack?

36 mill for 5,000 seats. Thats pretty small for a new place and it looks like there is no room for expansion. I would have gone to about 8,000

???????? Have you seen the newer buildings on campus? Sebo? Olscamp?
Also not sure why you think the artist rendering looks 70s.

Sebo looks like it is from the 70's as well. Haven't seen the rest of your campus. Maybe it is just the BG colors that makes it appear that way.

Eastern Michigan has like a 9,000 seat arena and it looks ridiculous when you go to their games and there isn't anyone in it. 5,000 is probably good for a MAC arena.

We appreciate your genorousity and look forward to receiving that check to up the seating to 8,000.

With an average attendance over 40 years somewhere in the mid-2000 range, it appears the people in the know have decided to build something that is in line with what the university needs and not worrying about what others think.

Eastern Michigan has a nice facility but its empty. I saw more BG fans than EMU fans two years for a womens basketball game.

I thought Ball State had a nice place as well, but it was almost 3/4 empty when I saw it a few years back.

It's being built for the next 40 years. You want expansion? If the need arises, we just expand the price of the tickets. My hope is that we sell the place out for each and every event and make it the ticket everyone wants in Northwest Ohio.

Note to Toledo fans: I like what I saw of the new Savage.

Agree

5000 is perfect for a small market mac team. toledo, ou, akron, ball st who have little bigger fan base (for diff reasons) need a few more seats. the new savage, remodeled into more of a bowl with about 7500 seats (instead of 9000) is perfect for UT
