Anyone else notice but this thread has 1,000 views. Someone is interested in who EMU names as its next football coach.

Hot tip!!....got this from a very reliable source, Robert Vanderlinden DC at Penn State, has Michigan roots from what I understand. I know he at least interviewed and is interested.

Warrior,

I added Ron Vanderlinden to the other thread with the coaches' resumes.

Vanderlinden is a rock solid assistant coach and would be an excellent choice. I'm sure Lloyd Carr would concur.

This is history repeat for me. Vanderlinden was my #1 choice 5 years ago. Dennis' #1 was Brian Kelly.

BTW, quick segway:

Here is Toledo's choice for HC;

Tim should be a very good choice. He pretty well sets the standard for what UT, BG and EMU are looking.

Vanderlinden was an asst at Northwestern, went to BG and was born in Metro Detroit, sound like anyone who was just fired from EMU? Not saying if he is hired that he won't do better than Genyk, but it's just funny how their resumes are similar.

The Nortwestern ties intrigues me and did when Genyk was coach. It's obviously a great educational institution that has the right kind of kids, to say the least -- even if the Wildcats don't win a ton. Hopefully whoever is hire can do both at EMU.

Yeah, but the most important part of his resume is his experience at "Linebacker U" (PSU).

He has the experience to turn around the defense.

He was the HC at Maryland from 1997-2000 leading the Terps to a 15-29 record.

I don't know if this guy has the ability to led EMU anywhere, but EMU's options seem limited, so what the heck.

He is PSU's LBs coach. He has done a nice job, but PSU's defense was already good when he got there. Tom Bradley is one of the nation's best DCs.Let's not overstate his impact. He is just a position coach.

RE: Coaching Candidates Thread
Can someone either on this thread or the other one Steve started put down a list of those coaches who have confirmed or been confirmed as interviewed for or interviewing for the head coach position?

Thanks.
