I am shocked I tell you. Chicago thugs fighting after a rap concert in DeKalb. Who would have thought? At least they didn't use guns this year. Things are improving.

I said thugs from Chicago. That is what they were. I had no comment on race what so ever. THere are MANY white thugs from Chicago that listen to rap and come to DeKalb for the rap concerts too. THe thugs(of all races) that come here have used guns in the past after the concerts.
Flames, give it up on the "racist" crap. THe JJ and AS's of the world are done as are your and their "racist" rants. Many of these did happen to be black men(as they were in other years) but by no means were there only blacks involved. But the ones mentioned are thugs and they were from Chicago.

If you want to yell at the racists, go to the Chicago State basketball commentary thread. That's racism as it's finest. I think Robert's comment here was off color, but I don't see it as any sort of obvious racism.

RE: Young Jeezy
I don't know why we bring in 'musicians' such as this guy to places like DeKalb, it brings nothing but trouble.
My friend who works parking claims to have seen 8 different gangs pull into the parking lot.
My friend who works security said she had to remove several knives.
Same one worked clean up and said that the entire convo smelled like pot, and the floor was filled with condoms, she also mentioned that there were 8 arrests made.
...I understand that the convo needs to break even, but seriously, have some class. This guy is a joke, although he produces some popular music it carry's the wrong crowd with him. It makes our university look bad, and good to those who have similar values as this douche, and who wants people like that at NIU (no there is no reference to race ... )
Just doesn't make sense to me. Last year we had the chance to bring in Miley Cirus (not that she is my favorite artist) but she at least brings a peaceful crowd with her. It is just ridiculous. I would think with recent events we wouldn't want to bring in such a dangerous crowd here. CA's were required to work extra shifts, that is unnecessary.
I might be crazy, but I already feel unsafe in the convo some times (probably just because of how close I was in Cole) but in a concert like that, it seems really unsafe. I don't want that crap at NIU.
