CMU & BSU are old news...It's down to this:
KSU & NAVY.
Time heals wounds...and with the Huskies, it typically takes me only a day, especially when a glimmer of hope remains. Sure, we can play it glass half empty (and that might be most logical), but we all collectively have an outlet that is Huskie Sports...So why not play it optimstic and be prepared for the opposite. If all that remains is gloom, why post? Get back to work, your family or The Bears.
Both games could be close and the lines on both games should be close.
Certainly, Kent State has had their share of problems, but winning on the road in the MAC aint no easy task (just ask CMU). Kent State has shown some flashes (no pun) and we certainly are anybody's guess at this point.
Navy will be tough...and they will be looking to close out right for further bowl consideration, but it's still our home (even with 12 fans) and when you consider Minn & Tenn & WMU early and CMU and BSU as of late...we are prepared for a 'better' opponent and Kill just might pull out a close one at end.
We win both, we go bowling. I believe that. We lose either or both..well..., obviously we stay home.
We lose both and Kill leaves us, in my opinion, with a less than average season.
We win both...and we are all again on the Kill bandwagon.
We win one...and we are as we are today...back and forth.
Give it up for the boys...win at KSU and lets "pack" the stadium for our finale against a good team and go bowling.

I think we can beat Kent State. Even if they stack the box and dare Chandler Harnish to throw the football.
Navy? I think we are in big trouble in that game.
Which is all way of saying I think we finish up 6-6 on the season. All in all a good season for first year coach Jerry Kill. He's got major recruiting and development work to do. But there is a lot to be hopeful about.

If we think with our heads and not our hearts...I agree. 6-6 is how we finish. If we manage the KSU game, at least we close out our season with the hope at home...and ya never know. Look at last night.
6-6...yea, Kill did fine....He will, however, be defined by his next two recruiting classes. I am very interested (and a little nervous) about this one. Last year's was a free-bee,..this year..not at all.
I would like to see Nathan Palmer again. Gosh, do we need playmakers. I, for one, like our qb...very much. RB's are ok...let's say a "B-". Do we have anyone in the mix that red-shirted?
This year was an extremely good year for the MAC (esp our side of the conf)...WMU will take a hit and can't imagine (even if Davis stays) that BSU will be on that level again. CMU...well...they seem to get it done and they will have their healthy qb who stirs the pot. Overall, NIU should have a better shot in 2009 based solely on the aforementioned.

The number of freshmen with signif playing time for CMU is mindnumbing. Hopefully most of the upfront hogs move on....
If BSU reaches the goal of playing & winning a BCS game, Nate Davis turns pro early.

6-6 overall and a 5-3 record in the MAC, plus, with the exception of the Ball State game, us being competitive in every contest, would be better than a lot of people expected for Kill's first season.
