I could care less about Tulsa. They're largely irrelevant to GT's interests. Except when they make Chan Gailey look like football Jesus in Idaho.

What are you talking about?

Tulsa never played in a bowl game against GT on the smurf turf back in 2004. we finished the season 8-4.

I dont know if Id call -5 favored by the planet (though I guess they did cover by the planet03-lmfao)

Could you imagine this as your top 3

Texas
OU
OK St.

Since texas has beat both teams, could OU jump Texas for #1 after the Bedlam game and not go to the B12 championship?

It looks like Alabama is going to pull it out so I guess this discussion is kind of moot.

Still fun though.

Kirk Herbstreit was the only major columnist I saw who picked GT to win.

Making matters worse by the end of the day we had only ONE starting offensive lineman left.

Terpy Wrote:All of those crappy mid major conferences are the MAC for all I care (and yes that includes the big east)

This coming from a guy who roots for a team that hasn't done anything in basketball in damn near a decade, plays in a football conference that has never won a BCS game, and really hasn't been relevant in football since before they expanded with 3 Big East teams.

In the mean time the Big East has had chances to play in national title game all the way down to the end of the season (WVU = 03-banghead).

The ACC can't even lean back on their basketball any more... this year the national media is calling the Big East the best conference ever, and it certainly is tougher top to bottom than any other conference.

So keep your talking... the Big East will continue to get better while the ACC will continue to go to the crapper.

I will bet you all the money in the world that the basketball champion does not come from the big east.

That would be a pretty dumb bet on my part, especially without odds.

The point of the matter is that the ACC is no better than the Big East in football, and is no longer anywhere close to the king of basketball since they watered it down during the last expansion. If you really think the Big East is not a major conference then there is no way you can count the ACC as one either.

RE: Laughable Scores - Week 11
Okay, let's do that GTS.

First of all, of the "big 6", the PAC10 is 6th. ACC 2nd, Big East 5th.

Now, lets go review his numbers for the past 3 years (including this year).

2007 - Big East 4th, ACC 5th.
2006 - Big East 2nd, ACC 4th.

Average for Big East = 3.67
Average for ACC = 3.67

ACC is certainly head and shoulders better than the Big East... 01-wingedeagle

The Big East has finished ahead of the ACC 2 of the last 3 years...

BCS bowl games... head to head during that time, BE wins (Louisville over Wake Forest). West Virginia is 2-0 during that time with wins over Oklahoma and Georgia. Overall BCS record is 3-0 during that time frame.

ACC record during that time, 0-3. ACC's record in BCS games since the inception, 1-9, Big East 6-4.

So keep talking all you want about the Big East being mid-major, but remember you just cause your own conference to look worse thanks to the association.

Who exactly is not a major?

As I said above, if the Big East is not major, then neither is the ACC.
