The giddiness (is that a word) that the Obama supporters are feeling over this election. It's just odd.

What is it about Obama that makes all these people like this?

GB.. I don't know what it is that makes folks "giddy" about living in the makings of a socialist state, and being labeled "middle-class".

Wish I knew...

I understand it.

They got smacked down 2x in 8 years, and Obama's ethnicity, makes this an historical event.

I just wonder if they'll have that fatigued, PTSD look in 4 years, like Carter in 1980.

Hope...change. Those words.

Unfortunately, he was never clear on what change he was going to bring to the nation.

Sad thing is this...

In NC, blacks voted for Obama 95% to 5%, and I guarantee the majority of them voted only b/c of skin color -- totally ignoring the words of the great MLK.
I, however, am proudly in the 5%.

he's the prototypical Charismatic leader, doesn't matter what he says all the hopes and aspirations of his followers are projected onto him.

there is alot of underlying theological and philosophical stuff you can take from that as well.

anyway, it will be fun watching Obama actually try to you know, Govern. One thing didn't 'change', and that is the reality of the world. I'm expecting a major global catostrophe to come that we just invited. My guess is Putin will make the first move for Ukraine and Georgia once summer hits, then after that Iran will make its move then Chavez may do something.

Whats stopping CHina from taking Taiwan and other weak nations around it? previously it was a strong US, but if Obama turns us into what he claims to want to its a totally different ballgame.

I would guess that giddiness is what helped CNN get it's highest ratings ever.

That and everyone flicking over to see the goofy hologram reporting.

He is a great orator... and great orators typically inspire and create "gittiness". Think Reagan, Kennedy, Lincoln, etc. I'm not saying he is going to be those presidents, I'm just saying that he speaks as well as them.

Hitler, Jim Jones, Fidel Castro et al were great orators as well. Speaking ability gets the attention of the masses, not content.

Now you know that the US lost its claim do being "strong" during Bush's tenure right. When we went to war in Iraq over bad information. When we started alienating all our allies. When we decided we have to be the freakin world police.

So when you complain about the US's loss of military stength make sure you lay the blaim at the feet of the right President.

This is an ignorant distortion of reality and I am so sick of seeing it spewed. Blacks have voted DEMOCRATIC at more than a 90% clip since the 1960s. The color of Obama's skin certainly had nothing to do with their voting preferences for more than four decades considering that almost nobody knew who he was until a few years ago. Just because a few more Blacks registered and voted this time does not make anything a racist conspiracy. The simple fact of the matter is that John Kerry, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, and a whole bunch of DEMOCRATS before them also got more than 90% of the Black vote. It has been a political affiliation and personal interest vote for more than four decades and that remains the case in 2008.

The figures I have seen show 90% went for Kerry and 88% went for Gore. Turnout was also substantially higher for Obama than either of the other two. Not sure what the percentages were for Clintons 2 elections.

Those guys created giddiness as well... GB asked why Obama supporters are so giddy over him, I gave the answer.
