Motor City Bowl question
Hey guys -- in case the Big Ten doesn't have enough schools to fulfill its obligation to the Motor City Bowl, is there an alternate conference...? Or it is an at-large berth...?

RE: Motor City Bowl question
I think the Big East gets a crack at it if they have an eligible team, then it's at-large if that fails. But I could be wrong on that.

RE: Motor City Bowl question
this usually depends on the bcs title game. if that does not include penn st, then the mac would get the 7th place big ten team, probably iowa or illinois. if 2 big ten teams went bcs the mac would need an 8th team from the league to be bowl eligible ( wisconsin may well finish 6-6). this bcs scenario has hurt mtchup a bit some years, by giving the MCB a lesser team. MAC fans should root for iowa or mich st to upset penn st and insure we get a good team into the MCB.

one question i have is if Ball st goes 12-0 (not a certainty) but boise or utah or TCU grabs that non-bcs bcs bowl game berth what will happen with ball st. seeing them matchup with a say 6-6 iowa or wisconsin team would be a bit of a downer (even though it would probably be a fairly even matchup). a few yrs back the WAC champ got exempted from their bowl tie in to play in the Liberty Bowl for a more high profile matchup. wonder if anything is in the works to provide more bowl options for the mac

Sorry to be the kill-joy here, but Ball U still needs to get past their three toughest opponents of their season.05-nono
If they get past NIU, CMU and WMU then we can start talking about alternitive Bowls.
