Nice link. Obama effigy is hung and the kids are suspended and the FBI is called in. Palin is hung and it's a free speech thing.

Bump.

I hate to be annoying...since you guys seem to think you have somehow found an injustice in these two events...but...You both are missing that this is a property rights issue as much as free speech.

The Obama situation was carried out "on someone else's property"....the Palin situation was carried out "by the owner..on his own private property".

Lesson to be learned....You DONT have free speech on SOMEONE ELSE'S property....As It should be.

So the FBI is called in because someone tried to exercise their free speech rights on private property? What federal crime would they be investigating? And wouldn't local disturbances be handled by the campus or local police? I mean, the FBI, come on now. I think we both know why one is a big deal and the other isn't.

I can't predict or explain the motivations of government goons..since they have the guns and the monopoly use of force....Im only pointing out the obvious difference in the situations.

I wonder what the position of the ALCU is on this subject - the effigy of both Obama and Palin - if they're for one then they have to be for both. We may never know who is right until their army of lawyers tells us.

Quote:LEXINGTON, Ky. - Authorities at the University of Kentucky are trying to find out who hung an effigy of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on campus.

School President Lee Todd says that he plans to personally apologize to the Obama family on behalf of the university and that he is "personally offended and deeply embarrassed by this disgusting episode."

FBI investigations? Apologies by school presidents? What's being done about the effigy of Palin? Nada.

Yeah, funny thing about that free speech on campuses. It seems to only exist with liberals. I seem to remember a buncha damn flag burnings and mutilated Bush effigies in the past.

If the campus allows that on their property then it is no more of a crime than the other situation.. If not...it would certainly be an actionable. offense. I have no idea what motivates the govt. thugs to investigate nonviolent crimes..I just know that as long as my neighbor does not harm me....I will allow him his freedom, regardless of our moral, religious,or political differences.... I oppose aggression against my neighbors...Of course I will defend my property and person in a fashion that I deem appropriate....including taking lives if necessary.

That's not restricted to Republicans. I'm not a Republican. That is Constitutional conservative.
