A personal thank you to Temple for being in the MAC
Because it meant that in the 20 minutes on Saturday that I actually got to spend watching college football were spent watching a MAC game!

Selfish? Yes. But this whole Temple football in the MAC works for me.

And, from my perspective, I thought the announcers were pretty good. They focused heavily on the MAC during the time I watched, in particular hammering away at just how tough the MAC West race was shaping up.

Personally, I'd like Temple to become a full all sports MAC member. All this football only thing only goes so far. It's like how long do you live with someone before you need to make a real commitment.

The problem though is as soon as something better comes along for Temple I'm afraid they are probably gone.

Temple has so much upside at the non-BCS level. There aren't many FBS schools in the northeast and few at the non-BCS level so Temple will pick up a lot of quality recruits. The TV market of course is huge and valuable.

Not only does Temple have a good shot at the Big East but they are pretty much an automatic for a new non-BCS conference based on the East Coast.

KC, I don't think it's fair to say Temple would be gone if better oppertunity comes along. Every school in the MAC would be gone if better oppertunity comes along.
At the time of the invite, it was 3 yr experment for FB only, unfortunatly the A-10 is viable option for Temple Olympic sports.
2010 the agreement will be over & reavaluated, Temple will proablly want to stay FB only & the MAC can decide if it's worth keeping Temple for FB only.

As an Ohio fan the only conference I'd be willing to move for is the SEC if they decide to expand to 16 with Texas, OU, TAMU....and Ohio!

Seriously Big Least and other East Coast options sound like a lateral move to me. If you are going to move why not aim for the best (SEC).

WPHL typically runs either a Big East or MAC game at 12 o'clock. I was out of town this weekend but I'm glad to hear the MAC got this game - they've been running WAAAAAY too many awful Rutgers/Syracuse games lately (just putrid).

I know there's geography involved, but Big East football just isn't that big of a deal here. Watching UConn & Syracuse? Blech. I hope we continue to get MAC games on PHL!

RE: A personal thank you to Temple for being in the MAC
I was looking in the TV guide to see if any games were on regular TV and noticed the CMU game was on. There used to be Big 10 games on at 11 CST, but now they're on the Big 10 network - screw them. I was like, Cool! I get to see a MAC game on TV. Didn't see the end though since I was leaving for the NIU game.
