Breaking Down MAC Hoops Schedules
Elton Alexander has an article on his blog that attempts to break down MAC basketball schedules. He categorized the teams into three groups.

Quote:Improved scheduling in the MAC has been a mission for Rick Boyages the MAC's director of basketball operations. Using 2007-2008 rankings from RPIRatings.com, we have established a good MAC schedule is comprised primarily by playing teams from the top 15 conferences, and by playing average to bad teams from very good conferences.

That improves chances for winning and builds computer rankings.

I know that a few teams lost some key senior leadership so it makes building a schedule a challenge. You want a challenge, yet try and keep it realistic for the young pups coming up. Also, some of our programs have a tough time getting games against teams from certain conferences - unless we always play on their court.

But, the challenge remains improving schedules league wide.

What are your thoughts on Alexander's thesis? Come on, hoops junkies - the season is drawing near. 04-rock
