Kent and Akron ADs Laing Kennedy and Mack Rhoades shot the idea down pretty quickly. CSU has no facilities, no money, and no interest. As soon as it was mentioned, people in the city started rumors of joining the MAC. It wouldn't work. They would be better off playing FCS ball.

At least one media guy realizes it's a pipe dream.

The CSU AD is a former EMU asst AD.

CSU could try for I-AA and try to move to the MVC and do hoops/FB there.

The Valley would seem to be a good place for CSU.

I'm CSU fan [my dad went there]. CSU does nothing for the MAC, Pioneer conf might be intresting for CSU.

CSU is trying to get enrollment up for more traditional students. Adding football has a history of working for schools.

The intelligent move would be to begin in 1-AA to start. They have the stadium for 1A but little else.

There's so much freaking college football in and around Cleveland, it's insane (Baldwin Wallace, Case, John Carroll, Lake Erie, Hiram.)
