Cards never seriously threatened as WKU scores in the last couple of minutes.

It was such an exciting day in the MAC, when the league's Top 25 team gets almost no mention on this board in its victory this evening.

BSU should go up one or two slots in the AP poll. The other poll will be iffy, as the BCS coaches greatly undervalue non-BCS teams with their votes.

I thought for sure Ball State would score at least 40 on WKU. Can the Ball State fans tell us why the offense was not clicking today? Is the Dante Love injury finally slowing down the offense?

WKU has a pretty good defense. They are only giving up 346 yards per game and surrendered only 27 points last week at Virginia Tech.

Its win and move on. Ball State 7-0, but now they have a target on them being ranked. As one of the last unbeatens they will have to learn how to handle getting everybody's A game. Ball State survived its first week being ranked, with a few teams losing ahead of them thet should enter the other polls and start to creep up in the AP.

The victory was by 3 scores. Dominating in my book.

Obviously, the loss of Love hurt immensely as he was a top receiver in the conference which leaves a frosh and sophomore wide receiving core. Teams are taking away Darius Hill. Nate seems to be forcing it a bit but WKU was getting all kinds of pressure on him last night.

I think most importantly, the chemistry just isn't there with the new WR's and the bye week will help a lot. If they were to come out against Eastern and struggle like they have, then I'd be worried.
We shall see.

agreed frozen. I also seem to think that Nate is pressing a bit at the start of games. He is trying to do too much and until he settles down, which has happened after the half the past two games, the offense has been slowed. The week off will really help. As the season goes on Nate is getting more confident with the other recievers they have. WKU was also really pumped up, first top 25 team at home, only second home game of the season. BSU just needs to get into rythm and utilize their RB's a little bit more to open the game.

Let's be realistic. No team is "up" for every game of the season. In the pecking order of games on their schedule this year, Western Kentucky comes up just about at the bottom. A letdown could have been anticipated. But the good news is that despite not playing up to their previous level, the Cards still won going away and came within 58 seconds of posting their 2nd consecutive shutout, something almost unheard of in today's offense-oriented football.
