RE: Introduce Yourself Here
Old fart here, I graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1975. My interest in NIU football reawakened when I noticed what Joe Novak was accomplishing with the program and the class and integrity that he displayed while accomplishing it. He made me proud of the program and proud of my alma mater. Internet connectivity and the ability to listen to or watch all of the games helped as well. I have not missed a football game in many years and with MM my interest in the basketball program is reawakening. When I attended NIU (in the Jim Bradley and Billy Harris era) we were a basketball school.

I try to get to at least two football games a year, one in DeKalb and one in my current state of residence, Ohio. By the way Bike Chuck refers to bicycling and not motorcycling. I purchased a used Raleigh bicycle while a student at NIU and since that time I have ridden over 100,000 miles by bicycle including many self contained bicycle camping trips.

RE: Introduce Yourself Here
Senior Rhetoric and Pub Speaking major and elder at Emmaus College Church on campus. Started going to games my 1st year in 08. went to every game and never looked back. My high school had a pretty good fb program too so it was easy to make the switch to another fine program here at NIU. Worked at the convo for all but 1 of last years home games(never doing that again). But did manage 2nd row MACC seats. I usually sit front row 50yrd line at HS. I'm going to try to make it to every home game this year. For a while the Huskies never lost a game I attended. Now they've only lost 3 out of the like 12 I've seen

Welcome to the board. We're all looking forward to this new season! Don't be afraid to jump right in on the discussions....I know it can be a little intimidating.

Hello,

Just registered for the board after spending an extended period of time just reading. I recently graduated with a meteorology degree. Now living back home in Peoria and getting a degree in Criminal Justice. Really looking forward to the football season and Montgomery era of NIU Bball.

Probably wont post often, but I will try to provide some kind of reason in my posts.

We know each other. I think. If you are who I think you are. Without saying my actual name, our parents played golf together a lot at Arrowhead. And I technically live in Dunlap, but am looking for a place to live in Peoria.

Welcome PeoriaHuskie! My son also got his Meteorology degree at NIU... graduated in 2003. I am very close by you as I live in Morton. Are you involved with the Central IL Weathernet or Peoria ESDA?
We're all looking forward to the new season! Go Huskies!

RE: Introduce Yourself Here
I never check this thread but I saw someone from Peoria posted.

I'm a 2002 Dunlap, 2006 Bradley (journalism) and 2009 NIU (law) grad. I'm a PI lawyer in town.

It's possible I know your parents because I golf twice a week at Arrowhead and my dad's on the board. I had a nice chat with the starter and former club champ (and NIU alum) at Arrowhead a couple days ago about NIU football. I also know the name of a detective with the state's attorney's office who golfs out there.

If you're looking to move from Dunlap into the city I'd recommend Prairie Lakes, where Route 6 meets Knoxville (behind Brasky's and Little Caesars). I've lived here for two years and it's by far the best complex in town.

RE: Introduce Yourself Here
Ah, I just joined a couple years ago so Doug's all I know. Before that I worked for Dion at Mt Hawley so I'd play over there.

Arrowhead's a great course and they keep it in nice shape. It's in far better shape than Mt Hawley right now. I was there a few weeks ago and there are brown spots all over the place. And the guy renovating all the bunkers at Arrowhead knows what he's doing (I think he did the same for Deere Run).
