I very much disagree. There have been regulations in place since the 30's. The fed simply won't let the market correct itself. We all know the market is cyclic in nature (well, not the fed). The harder you push the pendulum in one direction, the harder it'll swing in the other direction. The fed tried to avoid the bear a few years ago and keep the bull. Now we're paying for it. Concurrently, it's exposing how poorly some of these high profile business have been running. If the fed had just stayed out of it, we would have had a recession for sure, but it would be nothing like today and we'd already be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Now the fed won't let the market liquidate the bad debt.
Rule #1: Don't !@$# with the market.

Hey sport, both Bush AND McCain called for more regulation of Freddie and Fannie Mae a few years back. What, you don't remember the video of Maxine "Socialist" Waters saying something about Raine's "outstanding leadership"? How about Barney Fwank trying to eek out words of praise through his bleep bleep mouth?

RE: The "Letter"
The Big Three shouldn't have to do a DAMN thing. Are we now dictating what companies should be doing? ...and you call people on the right "Fascists"? That's the exact definition of Fascism.
If you guys want electric cars so damn bad, get off your asses and form your own company.
Oh, and Firm? Biden is against Coal.

These problems have been brewing for a hell of alot longer than two years. We have lost our way as a country. Both sides. It just amazes me you can't see that through your red tinted goggles. We WILL turn this economy around when the Big Three start mass producing electric cars. Democrats have the ideas. Republicans have DRILL DRILL DRILL. Oil is the energy of the past not our future. Repubs are stuck in the past. The only damn thing they offer is tax cuts. Hell if tax cuts were the pancea you Repubs think they are we wouldn't be in this mess. That's something we have had plenty of these last 8 years. Your hatred of Democrats blinds you.
Electric cars are nice...and it's a step in the right direction, but don't lose sight that this country was built from a 100 years of oil. Electric cars alone isn't going to turn the economy around. You quit cold turkey and the country's infrastructure shuts down. Oil provides so much more than our daily commute to work. Alternative fuels are the future, but we'll need EVERY fuel source to obtain our energy independence and bridge the gap to limited oil dependency.
Both major parties have provided more than their share in bogging us down and not allowing us to obtain these goals.

So yesterday's articles are now "revisionist history"? You just get steamed when the facts can be laid out so clearly you don't have any way to spin them.
