Ode to Factual Matters ... Manufacturing Moves South !
"Don't confuse me with facts, my mind's made up" 03-melodramatic

Here's some "West of the Rockies" thinking. The IAM isn't always known for being the smartest tool in the tool box, but they are pu$hing their job out the door. The Boeing company doesn't have to put up with this stuff ... and they won't.

More jobs moving to De Southland ! ! ! 03-lmfao 03-lmfao 03-lmfao

""The odds are heavy against the next new Boeing jet (after the 787) being built in the Seattle area," said Richard Aboulafia, vice president of analysis for the Teal Group, an industry consulting firm near Washington, D.C.

Boeing came close to picking Alabama or North Carolina as the final assembly site for the 787 Dreamliner before deciding to build the plane in Everett. Boeing's history of bad blood with its biggest union was one of the issues that weighed on Boeing leaders at the time.

"It is highly questionable if there will be any Boeing jets built in Seattle in 10 years," Aboulafia said."

RE: Ode to Rockymountain Ram Fan ...
I don't know why we need unions these days, I mean, how many sweat shops are out there that need them? Here in California the unions for teachers, prison guards, state workers, police and firemen pretty much demand huge slices of a (relatively) small pie that still needs to be sliced up for everything else the state needs to pay for - in the end my taxes go up to support unions. All 4 major sports have players unions - why? And why is it that union members often turn militant and violent against management while management has to sit back at take it? I remember when Ronald Reagan fired the striking air controllers. We need more of that type of leadership, but, unfortunately, regular businesses aren't allowed to resort to that measure because the democrats have stacked the deck for unions and limits what management can and can't do. With many unions they feel the tail wags the dog.

The IAM is biting the hand that feeds it and they're doing it in a financial climate that could really hurt its members. I read a few weeks ago that Boeing offered a deal where each member would get about $36,000 in bonuses, raises and benefits - and the greedy bastards turned them down. I hope the union starves.

Boeing is more than welcome in NC...We have plenty of skilled workers displaced in the furniture industries. GP just announced a 400 job cut in my area.

You won't see any movement from companies in a recession moving towards a depression. I'm sure you can find many stupid people to work for little or nothing down South.

RE: Ode to Rockymountain Ram Fan ...
Ya know, having lived in Colorado for over twenty years and having lived in Puget Sound for three and having been in all fifty states ... I simply don't understand one like RockyMRamFan. I was a RAM Fan, and a CU Fan and a Zoomie Fan and even a Bronco Fan. I never encountered anyone like him during that time.

I really think that if he doesn't change, he WILL end up shoveling 01-rivals in Greeley ! ! ! 03-lmfao

Those good manufacturing/high tech jobs will continue to be moving to De Southland RMRF ... you can take that to the bank ! ! 04-cheers

Tigertom, I would appreciate it if you would not call people out in thread titles going forward. Some people will get bent out of shape over it while others won't care.

Thanks!

High tech jobs won't be leaving the West. They have too much education and a growing population.

http://www.brookings.edu/reports/2008/07...ynski.aspx

We have to get out of another Republican recession/depression. It's funny how you live in the West, but praise the South, hypocrisy at its finest.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kerry. Besides, if Republicans had any knowledge of history they wouldn't keep on gettiing into recessions/depressions. They are the low-information voters.

There ... fixed it. Hope this is satisfactory. Rams do have a pretty hard head, sometimes. 03-lmfao

"Tense ... tense ... tense", oh "information filled one". ..."having lived in Colorado ... " . "I was a Ram Fan, ... " . I do wish you would follow the enlightening conversation, really ! 03-lmfao

Now, enough of this gibberish. I do wish you good fortune. The ascendancy of the Mountain States CAN occur, IF you don't follow the dimwitted ways of the folks in the PNW, where the subject of this little dissertation was directed FYI.

I enjoyed my time in Colorado. Fortunately, I lived above 7800 ft. elevation and missed out on the traffic and confusion "down the hill". I did enjoy trips to Ft. Collins and COSpgs every so often to view the college sport of Football in all the college venues. Great games all ! Unfortunately, you have to say once again, with regard to the CU Buffs, "Wait 'til next year"!

Good Luck ! 04-cheers

You don't have to be a genius to see the recent trends that show that you will lose for a long time with all of the new registered Democrats outnumbering Republicans. Young people will also point out the differences between the Clinton and Bush years. Good luck ever trying to get Congress or the White House back after this election, unless you steal it.

Ahhhhhh, dude...whose offices are under investigation for voter fraud???

Wanna go 'round on that one???

PLEASE, go visit the Belgian Brewing Company and GROW UP ! 04-cheers

PS: Who is back at the bargaining table again??? I guess you think that Mr. Macnerney isn't handling this IAM restriction of business well. Those union idiots will bend... COUNT ON IT. Then, count on the Boeing 787 being the very last new plane built in the PNW(Pacific North West).

Until there are a couple of years of Obama to include in the comparison.
