California in Play?
Apparently McCain thinks so, Palin campaigned there, but not NC. I think McCain knows how bad things are getting and doesn't want to be POTUS any more. Why in the world would they stop in CA when Obama's lead in NC is growing as it is in VA.

Palin is supposed to be at ECU today....Has that changed? My daughter was going to attend.

California is not in play. They're just sending Palin into generally fan-friendly places (although I wouldn't think Carson, CA is the bastion of conservatism) for fund-raising and media opportunities. Omaha was because they're a little afraid of losing congressional district race #2 in Nebraska and one electoral vote. McCain should have fired his advisors a long time ago - his own party continues to scratch their head over many of his moves.

Politicians use California as an ATM. It's not in play.
