RE: 08-09 Expectations
Can I come back and answer this question after our first game against Belmont?

I don't think we'll win either, but I think we'll be very competitive and improve through the year.
If Wagers works wonder with the D', we will win something.

RE: 08-09 Expectations
That's a tough one. First, we are thin and inexperienced in the frontcourt. Hamlin, Brown, Coy, and Ward must step up in a big way. Second, Davis needs to have improved his decision making and Sollazzo needs to step in right away--which I think he will be able to do. Third, to state the obvious, our defense must be better than it has been. If we do these things reasonably well, I think we'll be competitive with Jacksonville and Belmont (who I see as the front runners) and have a shot at the conference championship and/or the tournament championship.
I expect monster years from Pigram and Tiggs. By Pigram's standards, he had an off year last year. I think he'll come back this year stronger than ever. As for Tiggs, after starting strong, had an awful conference tournament. Just like every juco we've had for the last 5 years, he will be vastly improved from his first year.

My expectations for this season are fairly low. That way I should not be terribly disappointed with the outcome and may even be pleasantly surprised.

RE: 08-09 Expectations
From top to bottom, we are more talented than any team in the conference. Of course some of that talent is inexperienced. For the first time we are healthy (knock on wood). Pigram and Tiggs will have great years, Smith will finally come out of his funk, and the young guys will be playing great by February. Sollazzo is going to be a star. Hamlin is going to have a great year. JC Ward, Jarvis Jones and Seth Coy will be more added surprises. Hubbard, Williams, and Davis will keep the bench deep. All that said, we will restart a run of winning conference championships and getting back to the NCAA tournament yearly.

RE: 08-09 Expectations
The conference sucks and we get to play the D2's twice each. That's essentially eight wins in the conference right there.

You finish the conference schedule in 3rd place, but win the conference tournament. That is my prediction.
